A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a package. "What food might this contain?" The mouse wondered - he was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap. Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning. There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!"

The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said,"Mr. Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it."

The mouse turned to the pig and told him, "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!"The pig sympathized, but said, I am so very sorry, Mr.

Everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup's main ingredient.

But his wife's sickness continued, so friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig.The farmer's wife did not get well; she died. So many people came for her funeral, the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for all of them.

The mouse looked upon it all from his crack in the wall with great sadness.So, the next time you hear someone is facing a problem and think it doesn't concern you, remember -when one of us is threatened,we are all at risk. We are all involved in this journey called life. We

Why Sky is BLUE in daytime?

This is the all-time aged physics question. A simple answer would be "Rayleigh scattering." A better question(s) to be asked would be:

What part of the sky is bluest, and why isn't the entire sky a uniform color?
Does the daytime sky color actually follow the Rayleigh prediction?
Why isn't the sky blue on nights with a full moon? What is scattering the sunlight to produce the daytime sky color?
Would you get a blue sky if the scatters were much larger or much smaller?
Finally, (and this is my favorite one, especially with the latest landings by the NASA Pathfinder mission to Mars)
Why is the sky on Mars blue only within a few degrees of the horizon, and black overhead?

The basic color determination of the sky is in the wavelength dependence of the scattering of sunlight by the atmospheric molecules according to the Rayleigh scattering model. The electric field of the incident sunlight oscillates the electrons in these molecules, which in turn radiate light.

The overall effect is to scatter the sunlight. Light with shorter wavelengths (the blue end of the visible range) is deviated more from its longer wavelengths (the red end). When the sun is near the horizon the sky above an observer is therefore largely blue. The sky more than 90 degrees from the sun is less blue because it is illuminated with sunlight which must traverse a long path through the atmosphere and is therefore somewhat depleted in the blue.

The sky near the horizon is red or yellow because it too is illuminated with light whose long traversal of the atmosphere depletes the blue. Dust from a variety of sources (e.g., volcanos, forest fires) can not only scatter additional light, but can also display a different wavelength dependence than the Rayleigh scattering. Sunsets and sunrises after a major volcanic eruption can be brilliant (and also lead to one observing a blue sun and moon). The particular hues seen in any particular sunset are due to a combination of the normal Rayleigh scattering and the dust scattering.

v Reduce volume of tea intake;7

7 DONT'S AFTER A MEAL

Don't smoke- Experiment from experts proves that smoking a cigarette after meal is comparable to smoking 10 cigarettes [chances of cancer is higher].

Don't eat fruits immediately - Immediately eating fruits after meals will cause stomach to be bloated with air. Therefore take fruit 1-2 hr after meal or 1hr before meal.

Don't drink tea - Because tea leaves contain a high content of acid. This substance will cause the Protein content in the food we consume to be hardened thus difficult to digest.

Don't loosen your belt - Loosening the belt after a meal will easily cause the intestine to be twisted & blocked.

Don't bathe - Bathing will cause the increase of blood flow to the hands, legs & body thus the amount of blood around the stomach will therefore decrease. This will weaken the digestive system in our stomach.

Don't walk about - People always say that after a meal walk a hundred steps and you will live till 99. In actual fact this is not true. Walking will cause the digestive system to be unable to absorb the nutrition from the food we intake.

Don't sleep immediately - The food we intake will not be able to digest properly. Thus will lead to gastric & infection in our intestine.

About Your Precious BREAKFAST

Getting 7 to 8 hours of sleep is ideal. Also, a fitness plan consisting of at least 30 minutes of cardio workouts (running, elliptical, bike... anything that elevates your heart rate) 3 to 5 days a week will help your body to relax during the night in order to recuperate. Thus, you will sleep more soundly, and wake up more refreshed. Also, a cup of coffee never hurts on those really tough mornings!

Sugar helps you to gain energy very fast so if you have something sweet, it will help you to feel more energized. If you are a coffee drinker, add some sugar . If not, have a cereal bar with a sweet taste of honey or something like that.. if you are on diet, just use the sugar substitute ones.

Caffeine works for some people just fine.. They could go on with their days with a black cup of coffee. Try my favorite drink, which is a little bit of both, a vanilla late sugar free, fat free. You can never do something to wake you up early , if you are not a morning person.. Believe me. I have tried everything already but what you could try is how to make it feel better after the alarm goes off and get on with your life with more energy.

You should eat protein at every meal, eat fruits and vegetables and complex carbs. You need to eat at least 1200 calories a day. I eat between 1600 and 1800 calories a day and have 6 small meals a day. I work out lifting weights 3 times a week and do cardio once a week. If you don't eat enough your body will slow down its metabolism because it thinks it is starving. This is NOT healthy.

1. No Breakfast

People who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood sugar level. This leads to an insufficient supply of nutrients to the brain causing brain degeneration.

2. Overeating

It causes hardening of the brain arteries, leading to a decrease in mental power.

3. Smoking

It causes multiple brain shrinkage and may lead to Alzheimer disease.

4. High Sugar Consumption

Too much sugar will interrupt the absorption of proteins and nutrients causing malnutrition and may interfere with brain development.

5. Air Pollution

The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our body. Inhaling polluted air decreases the supply of oxygen to the brain, bringing about a decrease in brain efficiency.

6. Sleep Deprivation

Sleep allows our brain to rest. Long term deprivation from sleep will accelerate the death of brain cells.

7. Head Covered While Sleeping

Sleeping with the head covered increases the concentration of carbon dioxide and decrease concentration of oxygen that may lead to brain damaging effects.

Working hard or studying with sickness may lead to a decrease in effectiveness of the brain as well as damage the brain.

9. Lacking In Stimulating Thoughts

Thinking is the best way to train our brain, lacking in brain stimulation thoughts may cause brain shrinkage.

How Do I Avoid Eye Strain While Operating On my PC?

While PCs have certainly made life easier, they have taken their toll on our eyes. Most suffer eyestrain after spending hours in front of the monitor. Here are some ways to overcome the eyestrain:

Adjust monitor brightness to an intensity that is comfortable for the eyes. It should not be too bright or too dim.
Avoid bright light in your peripheral vision surrounding the PC (sunlight from the window, bright lamp, etc) .
Screen background should be such that letters are easily read. Repeat brightness and contrast adjustment till you are comfortable with the outcome.
Restrict glare on your screen (such as the reflection of a table lamp or light from the window) to the minimum.
Position the monitor perpendicular to windows or other bright light sources to reduce glare.
Avoid staring at the monitor constantly. In other words, blink at regular intervals.
As a precaution, wet tissue or handkerchief with clean and if possible cold water and place it over closed eyes for a few minutes. This will refresh eyes.
Cup palms and rest your eyes in them.
At periodic intervals fix your sight on a particular distant object and then return attention to the screen.

Never Light Candle in A/C Room - Very Dangerous !!

NEVER LIGHT CANDLE in A.C. ROOM - " Prevention is better than cure"

One of friends colleague passed away last week due to carbon-monoxide poisoning. It happened when she lighted an aroma therapeutic candle for the night in a room with air-conditioner ON.

Due to lack of oxygen in the room, the burning of the candle cannot fully oxidize & thus forms dangerous carbon monoxide.

Carbon monoxide will prevent oxygen exchange in the lungs,resulting in the person dozing off to a state of unconsciousness & eventually death in less than an hour, depending on the room size.

This information is to make you aware of such danger when lighting aroma therapeutic candles in any unventilated rooms.

Protecting your beautiful face from pimples

Do not pick or squeeze at pimples, as this can cause scarring, and it can slow the healing process. In general, you should avoid touching your face.

Some popular over-the-counter facial cleansers designed to clear up and prevent acne are formulated with benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid or tea tree oil, but I wouldn't recommend them to someone who experiences burning because these ingredients can irritate sensitive skin.

It's important to understand that some acne-fighting products do not work well for everyone. A dermatologist will be able to tell you what will work best for you and may suggest prescription medication.

Wash your face five times a day with any antiseptic wash like dettol soap or something and nothing else. Do it periodically like after every 5 hours or something.

Use the Home made herbal face pack like mixture of Fuller's earth (Multani Mitti) and sandal powder every day from which your skin will become dry. Don't use moisturising soaps or moisturising creams. Use only medicated soaps.

Nice Joke: A blonde had just gotten a new sports car and was out for a drive when she accidentally cut off a truck driver. He motioned for her to pull over. A Mom comes to visit her son for dinner.who lives with a girl roommate. During the course of the meal, his mother couldn't help but notice how pretty son's, roommate was.She had long been suspicious of a relationship between the two, and this had only made her more curious. Over the course of the evening, while watching the two interact, she started to wonder if there was more between her son and his roommate than met the eye. Reading his mom's thoughts, son volunteered, "I know what you must be thinking, but I assure you, girl and I are just roommates."

About a week later, girl came to boy saying, "Ever since your mother came to dinner, I've been unable to find the silver chutney jar. You don't suppose she took it, do you?" boy said,"Well, I doubt it, but I'll email her, just to be sure."

Time Management :: Priest and Politician !!

The priest and the politician [ A story about "Time Management" and being late ]

After twenty-five years in the same parish, Father O'Shaunessey was saying his farewells at his retirement dinner. An eminent member of the congregation - a leading politician - had been asked to make a presentation and a short speech, but was late arriving.

So the priest took it upon himself to fill the time, and stood up to the microphone:

"I remember the first confession I heard here twenty-five years ago and it worried me as to what sort of place I'd come to... That first confession remains the worst I've ever heard. The chap confessed that he'd stolen a TV set from a neighbor and lied to the police when questioned, successfully blaming it on a local scallywag.

He said that he'd stolen money from his parents and from his employer; that he'd had affairs with several of his friends' wives; that he'd taken hard drugs, and had slept with his sister and given her VD. You can imagine what I thought... However I'm pleased to say that as the days passed I soon realized that this sad fellow was a frightful exception and that this parish was indeed a wonderful place full of kind and decent people..."

At this point the politician arrived and apologized for being late, and keen to take the stage, he immediately stepped up to the microphone and pulled his speech from his pocket:

A wonderful story :: About Love !!

A woman came out of her house and saw 3 old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize them. She said "I don't think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in and have something to eat."

"Is the man of the house home?", they asked.

"No", she replied. "He's out."

"Then we cannot come in", they replied.

In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had happened.

"Go tell them I am home and invite them in!"

The woman went out and invited the men in"

" We do not go into a House together," they replied.

"Why is that?" she asked.

One of the old men explained: "His name is Wealth," he said pointing to one of his friends, and said pointing to another one, "He is Success, and I am Love." Then he added, "Now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in your home."

The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband was overjoyed. "How n ice!!", he said. "Since that is the case, let us invite Wealth. Let him come and fill our home with wealth!"

His wife disagreed. "My dear, why don't we invite Success?"

Their daughter was listening from the other corner of the house. She jumped in with her own suggestion: "Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!"

"Let us heed our daughter's advice," said the husband to his wife.

"Go out and invite Love to be our guest ."

The woman went out and asked the 3 old men, "Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest."

Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other 2 also got up and followed him. Surprised, t he lady asked Wealth and Success: "I only invited Love, Why are you coming in?"

The old men replied together: "If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us would've stayed out, but since you invited Love, wherever He goes, we go with him. Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth and Success !!!!!!"

1. He bought his first share at age 11 and he now regrets that he started too late!

2. He bought a small farm at age 14 with savings from delivering newspapers.

3. He still lives in the same small 3-bedroom house in mid-town Omaha that he bought after he got married 50 years ago. He says that he has everything he needs in that house. His house does not have a wall or a fence.

4. He drives his own car everywhere and does not have a driver or security people around him.

5. He never travels by private jet, although he owns the world's largest private jet company.

The wodden bowl - An Amazing Story

I guarantee you will remember the tale of the Wooden Bowl tomorrow, a week from now, a month from now, a year from now.

A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year old grandson. The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered. The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor. When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth.

The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess. "We must do something about father," said the son. "I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor."

So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner. There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner. Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl!

When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometime he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone. Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food.

The four-year-old watched it all in silence. One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor. He asked the child sweetly, "What are you making?"

Just as sweetly, the boy responded, "Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up." The four-year-old smiled and went back to work.The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done.

That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table.

For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled.

3 Questions About GOD !!

A young man who went overseas to study for quite a long time. When he returned, he asked his parents to find him a religious scholar or any expert who could answer his 3 Questions.

Finally, his parents were able to find a scholar.
Young man: Who are you? Can you answer my questions?
Scholar: I am one of God willing, I will be able to answer your questions.

Young man: Are you sure? A lot of Professors and experts were not able to answer my questions.
Scholar: I will try my best, with the help of God .

Young Man: I have 3 questions:

1. Does God exist? If so, show me His shape.
2. What is fate?
3. If Devil was created from the fire, why at the end he will be thrown to hell that is also created from fire. It certainly will not hurt him at all, since Devil and the hell were created from fire. Did God not think of it this far?

Suddenly, the Scholar slapped the young man's face very hard.
YoungMan(feeling pain): Why do you get angry at me?

Scholar: I am not angry. The slap is my answer to your three questions.
Young Man: I really don't understand.

Scholar: How do you feel after I slapped you?
Young Man: Of course, I felt the pain.
Scholar: So do you believe that pain exists?

Type of Questions

Interviewers use 5 different types of questions - directive, non-directive, hypothetical, behavior descriptive, and stress. Being aware of the different types can help you in the preparation stage as you build your skills inventory. It may also help you focus in on exactly what is being asked and what the employer is looking for in specific questions.

Directive Questions :

The interviewer determines the focus of your answer. The information that the interviewer wants is very clear. If you have completed the research on yourself, this type of question should be easy to answer.

Example: "What skills do you have that relate to this position?"

"I have very good communication and interpersonal skills that I have refined through several summer and part-time jobs working with the public. In addition, I am fluent in both English and French."

Non-Directive Questions :

You determine the focus of your answer. The interviewer asks a general question and does not ask for specific information. The most common non-directive question is "Tell me about yourself."

When answering the question, keep in mind that the employer is interested in knowing how your background and personality qualify you for the job. In your answer, you should cover four areas: your education, related experience, skills and abilities, and personal attributes. As you talk about these areas, relate them to the job you are seeking. Decide what your response will be before starting to speak, this helps to keep responses concise.

Example: " Tell me about yourself."

"I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, and have recently completed the course
in Volunteer Management through the Volunteer Center of Winnipeg. These have given me a strong background in many of the principles of human behavior and the recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers. I have experience in working with young adults in a helping capacity, both through my position as a Peer adviser at the University of Manitoba, and as a camp counselor at a camp for behaviorally troubled adolescents. Both of these positions involved individual counseling, facilitating discussion groups, and teaching young people about health issues - all of which relate directly to the services which I would be training volunteers to provide within your organization. In addition, I thoroughly enjoy working with young people, and can establish rapport with them easily."

Hypothetical or Scenario Questions :

When asking a hypothetical question, the interviewer describes a situation, which you may encounter in the position and asks how you would react in a similar situation. This is a good way to test problem-solving abilities. When answering this type of question, try applying a simple problem solving model to it – gather information, evaluate the information, priories the information, seek advice, weigh the alternatives, make a decision, communicate the decision, monitor the results and modify if necessary.

Example: "Suppose you are working your first day in our laboratory, and a fire at a nearby work station breaks out. What would you do?"

"Before I start working in any laboratory, I always locate the emergency equipment, such as eye washes, fire blankets and alarms. I would also review the safety protocols. So in this situation, I would be aware of these. As soon as I noticed the fire, I would shut down my experiment and if the fire is significant, I would pull the firm alarm and help to evacuate the lab. In the case of very small flame, I would ask the staff member at the station what I could do to help, Which would vary with the type of substances involved.”

Behavior Descriptive or Behavioral Questions :

This type of question is becoming increasingly popular in interview situations. It asks what you did in a particular situation rather than what you would do. Situations chosen usually follow the job description fairly closely. Some employers feel that examples of past performance will help them to predict future performance in similar situations. There is no right or wrong answer to this type of question, but keep in mind that you should relate the answer to the position. If you are interviewing for a research position, talk about a research project you completed.

Example: "Give me an example of a work situation in which you were proud of your performance."

"While working as a sales representative for XYZ Company for the summer, I called on Prospective clients and persuaded them of the ecological and economic benefits of Recycling. I also followed up on clients to ensure that they were satisfied with the service They received. This involved both telephone and in-person contacts. I increased sales 34% over the same period in the previous year."

When preparing for this type of questioning, it is crucial that you review the skills and qualities that the position would require and identify specific examples from your past which demonstrated those traits.

Stress Questions :

Some questions will surprise you and possibly make you feel uncomfortable during an interview.

For Example:" Which do you prefer, fruits or vegetables?"

There are many reasons why an interviewer might ask such questions. They may want to see how you react in difficult situations, or they may simply be trying to test your sense of humor. Such questions may directly challenge an opinion that you have just stated or say something negative about you or a reference. Sometimes they ask seemingly irrelevant questions such as, "If you were an animal, what type of animal would you be?"

The best way to deal with this type of question is to recognize what is happening. The interviewer is trying to elicit a reaction from you. Stay calm, and do not become defensive. If humor comes naturally to you, you might try using it in your response, but it is important to respond to the question. What you say is not nearly as important as maintaining your composure.

Example: "Which do you like better, Lions or Tigers?"

"Oh, lions definitely. They appear so majestic and are very sociable. To be honest, I think that seeing The Lion King four times has probably contributed to this!"

Resume is the first interface you have with your employer.Make the most of this opportunity. The employment market is changing all the time and so have resumes, evolving from a one-size-fits-all standard.

Basic Etiquette & Common Mistakes in Mailing Resumes :

Follow These Basic Standards :

Don't overcrowd your resume; allow for plenty of white space.

Keep your resume to one page whenever possible.

Do not switch tenses within your resume.

The duties you currently perform should be in present tense (i.e., write reports)

Duties you may have performed at past jobs should be in past tense (i.e., wrote reports). Capitalize all proper nouns.

When expressing numbers, write out all numbers between one and nine (i.e., one, five, seven), but use numerals for all numbers 10 and above (i.e., 10, 25, 108).

If you begin a sentence with a numeral, spell out that numeral (e.g. Eleven service awards won while employed.).

Make sure your date formats are consistent (i.e.11/22/08 or Nov. 22, 2008, or 11.22.08. Choose one and stick with it.).

REFERENCES:

In most instances it is not necessary to include names and address of references on the resume. If you include a reference, make it sure that the referenced person knows very well about you. It is also advisable to add the persons as references, whom the employer can contact easily. If possible add the phone number and e-mail ID of the reference. Never add a person as a reference, about whom you know nothing

STICK TO THE POINT :

Employers have a busy schedule, so don't expect them to read through a long resume. Ideally, resumes should be of one page, or of two pages only if absolutely necessary, to describe relevant work experience.

WORDS COUNT :

Use of language is extremely important; you need to sell yourself to an employer quickly and efficiently. Address your potential employer's needs with a clearly written, compelling resume. Avoid large paragraphs (five or six lines). If you provide small, digestible pieces of information, your resume will be read. Use action verbs. Verbs such as "developed", "managed", and "designed" emphasize your accomplishments. Don't use declarative sentences like "I developed the ..." or "I assisted in ...", leave out the "I". Avoid passive constructions, such as "was responsible for managing". Just say, "managed": that sounds stronger and more active.

MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR EXPERIENCE :

Employers need to know what you have accomplished to have an idea of what you can do for them. Don't be vague. Telling someone that you "improved the company's efficiency" doesn't say much. But if you say that you "cut overhead costs by 20 percent and saved the company Rs 20 lakh during the last fiscal year", you are more specific.

HONESTY IS A GOOD POLICY :

Employers will feel more comfortable hiring you if they can verify your accomplishments. There is a difference between making the most of your experience and exaggerating or falsifying it. A falsified resume can cost you the job later.

DOUBLE-CHECK FOR MISTAKES :

Check your resume for correct grammar and spelling - evidence of good communication skills and attention to detail. Nothing can ruin your chances of getting a job faster than submitting a resume filled with preventable mistakes. Make your resume easy on the eye. Use normal margins (1" on the top and bottom, 1.25" on the sides) and don't cram your text on the page.

Allow for some space between the different sections. Avoid unusual or exotic fonts. Preferred fonts: Arial and Times Roman.

Life is an Adventure

Life is an adventure and its teacher is love
